Our customers in Carmel wanted darker cabinets for their master bathroom, which is a high-traffic area. They wanted cabinets that would show less wear and tear over time. They also expressed how they thought the new color palette would create a more moody look, which is what they were going for. Having decided it was time to transform their bath and cabinet, they reached out to Walla Painting. The homeowners also wanted to refresh several areas of their house with new paint, including the entryway, stairwell, upper hall, full bath, master bath and closet, dining room, playroom, mudroom, and laundry room. These customers had hired Walla Painting to work for them before. They were impressed with our work and trusted us with another large project they wanted to be completed.
Our team of professionals made various surface preparations before applying new paint finishes. To prepare the home for fresh paint, we did several things, including removing the chair rail from the dining/playroom wall, fixing wall damage, filling gaps in baseboards, sanding imperfections, and removing damaged portions of the mudroom ceiling as instructed by the homeowner. We spot primed, scuff sanded, and cleaned surfaces where needed.
● Trim: Emerald semi-gloss was used to color match the existing trim in the home. ● Behr Siam Gold S310-7 matte was applied to the dining room walls.
● PPG 1111-3 Safari matte on the entryway, stairwell, and upper hall walls. ● Sherman Williams 7503 Sticks & Stones satin on the master bathroom and closet walls. It was also used on the mirrored medicine cabinet frame in the master bath. ● Duration matte color matched to the existing kitchen blue wall color for the kitchen, laundry, and mudroom room walls.
● Georgian Bay Sherman Williams 6509 satin for the full bath walls.
● PPG Dark Granite PPG 1005-7 was used for the vanity cabinet and built-in shelves.
Our customers allowed us to set up an open area for a painting station for the master bath cabinet doors and drawers. We advised our customers that newly painted cabinets take 30 days to cure fully. We cautioned them to take extra caution until 30 days have passed. The master bath cabinet surfaces were scuff sanded and thoroughly cleaned. An extreme bond primer was applied to the cabinets and built-in shelf and left to cure for 24 hours. After waiting 24 hours for it to cure thoroughly, we applied two coats of Emerald Trim Urethane in PPG 1005-7 Dark Granite. Two coats of Emerald Trim Urethane were applied to the medicine cabinet in Sticks and Stones. The remainder trim was painted with Emerald Trim Urethane in color Extra White, a color match to match the rest of the home not being painted. The ceilings in this bathroom had one coat of
Promar ceiling paint applied, and the walls were then painted two coats with Duration Satin in color Sticks & Stones as well.
A truly remarkable transformation was achieved for our repeat Carmel customers. Check out the “before” and jaw-dropping “after” photos of their newly painted bathroom vanity and cabinets! The professionals at Walla Painting take pride in each project we do and are always pleased to have repeat customers.
