Resealing and Repainting Fireplace

The customer noticed their fireplace mantle was beginning to crack at the seams and was looking dingy from smoke. They wanted to re-seal the seams and repaint with a higher gloss to make cleaning the soot off easier.

They saw a Walla had a reputable standard and they were able to schedule promptly.

We cleaned the soot off the entire mantle, to start with a clean slate. After resealing all the seams with a shrink free and crack proof caulk. We sanded the mantle to a smooth finish. Then applied two coats of emerald urethane trim enamel semigloss to provide the most durable finish.

The mantle in the end looks like it was built yesterday. Brand new clean finish!
